In this PhD project, we aim at a better understanding of fundamental, ultrafast molecular processes relevant in solar energy conversion and photochemical reactions. For this purpose, ultrafast coherent multidimensional spectroscopy is the ideal method of choice, delivering a highly resolved spectro-temporal image of the molecular processes. As targets, we prepare tailored, functional nanosystems in an ultrahigh vacuum environment. The approach provides high control over the studied systems and enables precise measurements. The PhD student will extend the experimental apparatus towards higher time resolution and new target systems and will perform studies on a wide range of systems. Data analysis and interpretation will be done in close collaboration with the theory group of M. Thoss. (L. Bruder, M. Thoss)
